As a Photographer, I have a good memory for faces, but when I first came across Junior, together with his groomsmen, I could have easily mistaken the best man for the groom. That’s because at Junior and Clover’s wedding the best man was Junior’s twin brother! They each wore matching suits and apart from different coloured ties they looked exactly the same.
As soon as Clover walked into the room though, it was obvious who was who, as Junior’s eyes were brimming with love as soon as he set eyes on his bride.
The wedding was held at the very popular de Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor and the ceremony took place in the Hanover Suite which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The couple had told me before the wedding that they wanted informal photographs so that’s what I tried to create throughout the day.
I began in the morning by taking photographs of the groom, his best man, the groomsmen outside the venue and then some more of the guests once they were seated inside. I got some lovely shots of the two flower girls and Clover’s Maid of Honour, walking down the aisle. Finally, Clover entered the room on the arm of her father and I got a great shot of her smiling wryly at Junior’s brother.
The wedding ceremony itself was informal with lots of laughter, but there were some tender moments which caused a few tears. The children had a great time being flower girls and pageboys. They did their job perfectly and behaved very well.
After the ceremony Junior and Clover came with me for some outside shots. I especially like the photographs of them at the water’s edge and walking hand in hand along the path beside the de Vere building.
The meal took place in the Romanesque style 19th century chapel which features an ornate painted ceiling and a stunning stained-glass window. Junior and Clover had a 4-tier wedding cake decorated in white and silver, which one of the guests thought looked good enough to eat before it was cut!
I stayed on at the evening reception to capture Clover and Junior’s first dance in front of their very contented guests and then I left quietly while they all got on with enjoying the evening.
I hope Junior and Clover will remember this day fondly for many, many years with the help of the photographs taken on their very special day.
