I recently had the pleasure of photographing Nicola and Tommy at their wedding at Heatherden Hall at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
The party spent the morning getting ready at the Pinewood Hotel where I got some wonderful shots of the couple getting ready. They were such a happy pair with a great sense of humour and they didn’t seem at all nervous.
I think the photograph of Nicola sitting on the bed with her hair in rollers laughing her head off really captures the essence of the whole day.
Heatherden Hall is in the heart of Pinewood Studios and from the grounds, you can see the tents which are erected for the Great British Bake Off. This venue is World Famous Television & Film Studios where many classic films were recorded.
The wedding took place inside the manor, in a room with white Greek columns and large windows, which let the daylight flood in.
Nicola looked beautiful in her wedding gown which had a fitted bodice and a long delicate veil. Tommy and his groomsmen looked dapper in pale blue suits with a light cream rose buttonhole.
I was able to get a lovely shot of Nicola with her father and another one of her walking down the stairs of the hotel on her way to the wedding car.
At the venue, she was greeted by her bridesmaids, who were dressed in pale pink. The ceremony was informal with lots of smiles and happy faces.
After the ceremony, Nicola and Tommy walked through a shower of confetti and stopped for me to take some amusing photos of them, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids having fun.
After that, I got some beautiful images of Nicola and Tommy on a stone bridge in the grounds. The pond was filled with aquatic plants and they were surrounded by tall trees which gave the photo a sense of romance.
Next, it was time for the reception. Again there were plenty of happy faces and lots of smiles and laughter. The 3-tier wedding cake was covered in large natural flowers and it looked scrumptious.
After the happy couple had cut the cake, I was able to entice them back outside for some more romantic shots by the stone bridge and more by the evergreen thuja, which provided a wonderful photo opportunity. I also captured another funny moment when the best man was holding Nicola’s bouquet and veil.
Back at the venue, there was a surprise for Tommy. He loves doughnuts and when he walked back inside, he discovered a large peg board filled with doughnuts with the title ‘A hole lotta love’ which was a very clever play on words.
Then it was time for the first dance and the live band gave a great performance.
Nicola and Tommy loved the camera, and this meant that the shots were very natural, which was perfect.
I had a great day and I hope that Nicola and Tommy cherish their pictures. If you would like to hire me for your wedding, please get in touch by filling out the contact page on my website. Although I am a wedding photographer based in Surrey, I do travel, especially around the London area.
