Emma and Jack’s wedding took place at St. Mary’s church, Chiddingfold, which is a grade 1 listed building thought to date back to around 1180. The rector is Sarah Brough and she officiated at the ceremony.
I started off the day at Emma’s home taking some shots of her getting ready. I like the shot of her sitting down surrounded by her bridesmaids, who all look lovely in matching blue dresses.
Emma travelled to the church from her home in a vintage car and she looked beautiful in her bridal gown which came from Love Me Do Brides in Kingston. You can see the shots I took of her shoes and the embellished sash while she was getting ready. I think it’s nice to take photographs of small details that might otherwise get forgotten.
Jack was waiting at the church with his nine groomsmen. Although the day was themed blue and white, they had all decided to wear red ties and socks to show their support for their beloved Manchester United. You’ll see in the picture I have taken of Emma and Jack kneeling at the altar that Jack also has red in the soles of his shoes. He’s obviously a dedicated football fan. They looked very happy to see each other when Emma arrived at the church and she was given an enthusiastic greeting from Jack.
After the ceremony, as it was a nice day we were able to get some outside shots of the bride and groom and the guests that were throwing confetti.
The reception took place at Ramster Hall in Chiddingfold, which is just 3 minutes away from the church. Ramster Hall uses a long barn for wedding receptions and it looked stunning decorated with the blue and white theme and with string lights cascading down from the roof beams.
The cake was kept in the drawing room. It was an original design by Chlobo, in keeping with the blue theme and made of rum and peanut butter. While Emma went to look at the cake we noticed that there was a throne in the room. Not wanting to miss a photo opportunity I was able to take some shots of Emma sitting down and looking very contented.
The whole day was filled with joy and laughter. Especially when the speeches began. In fact, one of my favourite photographs is of Emma and Jack laughing at one of the speeches while they are seated during the reception.
After the meal and the cutting of the cake, the barn was transformed for the evening activities. Emma and Jack hired a DJ for the evening and it didn’t take long for everyone to join in with some energetic singing and dancing. Jack and friends, especially.
It was a lovely day and a fabulous evening and I hope Emma and Jack treasure the memories my photographs will evoke.
