Another beautiful day and this week I am the wedding photographer at a wedding at The Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire.
The wedding took place in the afternoon, with an evening reception. I began as I always do by taking pictures of the bride as she was getting ready. She looked beautiful in a backless bridal gown with a long train. It was combined with a lovely bouquet which included pink, white and red roses.
Her 4 bridesmaids wore lilac and the groom, and his groomsmen were in blue suits with white roses in their buttonholes. The whole ceremony was taking place at The Elvetham Hotel, which is set in 35 acres of landscaped gardens which meant there was plenty of opportunities to take beautiful outdoor photos.
Starting with the bride, I decided to take some pictures that would show off her dress and her hair. The hotel had a wide curved staircase with large stained-glass windows. Not only did it provide plenty of light, but it was also a stunning backdrop. The picture of the bride walking down the stairs shows off her dress and train perfectly.
The wedding ceremony began with the bride being walked down the aisle by her father. As soon as she reached the groom there were warm smiles and looks exchanged between them. When the ceremony had finished the couple walked out into the gardens where their guests were waiting with a huge amount of confetti. It was thrown with great enthusiasm, which I think I have captured nicely.
Outside there were two rows of wide evergreen thuja trees. They made the perfect walkway and it was wide enough to be able to take photographs of the bride and groom, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids, walking side by side. I even got them jumping up in the air while holding hands, it was a great natural shot.
After that I took some more photographs of the bride and groom alone. I especially like the photo of the happy couple kissing in front of the fireplace inside the hotel.
The meal was served in the Oak Room at 5pm. The wedding cake looked delicious adorned with fresh flowers. There was a lot of talking and laughter. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Then it was time for the first dance and a treat for the guests. The bride and groom got on stage and performed two songs. The groom sang and played the guitar while the bride played the drums.
After that it was time for the guests to get their dancing shoes on and they were entertained by a live band. It was a really enjoyable day and I hope that my photographs bring back some beautiful memories for the couple.
I am a wedding photographer based in Surrey and London, although I do travel. If you would like me to be your wedding photographer, please get in touch using the contact form on the website and I will get back to you for a chat.
